GREAT VISIT WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF COLOMBIA TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE CANADIAN GOAT GENETICS THANKS TO
For the past 8 years, Cannexion has been working to bring Canadian sheep and goat genetics to South America in an effort to help Colombian farmers as they diversify and attempt to increase farm income. During the summer, our President and Colombian Ambassador Nicolas Lloreda met with MP Jamie Schmale and local dairy goat farmer, Lloyd Wicks. They were in town visiting Lloyd’s farm to show Ambassador a genetic program for better goat breeding. Mr. Lloreda was not only impressed by the quality of the genetics, but also the hard work that Lloyd has put in over the past years, exporting animals all over the world.
Cannexion is currently designing a project that will have a positive impact on youth and women, who are active participants in the small ruminant value chain in Colombia. We recently completed a project funded by Global Affairs Canada to help to improve this industry in Colombia.
